Not All is Lost

Thinking that it is possible to change is a major step when one is down and out, I know that much. One has to be willing to change, to at least think that there might be a solution to one's problem. That some call it faith, but it is more than that, it is your yourself trying to survive.

The first thing I discovered was that most rehab programs are not really designed to solve the problem for good; they are a scam mainly, maybe to make money from your insurance or from you. Yes, there a lot of good people out there that want to help you, the nurses, doctors, your real friends and family. But the problem is the program not the people.

No 7-day or 28-day or 30-day program is going to get you out of the trap, even an AA program--I know they did not help me. They might get you to sober up but won't, in the long run, help you solve the real problem.

But what do I do you might ask? What is a really good program you might ask?

I will give you some of my ideas in my next posting.
